Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Journeys & Pals mobile application (iOS) and associated web services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue use of the application and services immediately.

2. Description of Service & Host-Only Model

Journeys & Pals provides a collaborative trip planning platform, allowing travelers to organize itineraries, track shared expenses, store travel tickets, and coordinate group trips.

Journeys & Pals utilizes a Host-Only Creator Pass model. A trip host who subscribes to the Creator Pass unlocks cloud synchronization and extended capacities for their journey. Invited participants (“Pals”) join free of charge and inherit collaborative features solely within the scope of that hosted journey.

3. In-App Subscriptions & Purchases (Apple App Store)

Premium features (Creator Pass) are billed through Apple In-App Purchases and are subject to Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

• Billing & Renewal: Subscriptions are available on a monthly ($4.99/mo) or annual ($29.99/yr) basis. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Free Trials: If offered, any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is disabled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle.
• Cancellations & Refunds: You may manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your Apple ID Account Settings. Refunds are processed exclusively in accordance with Apple’s App Store refund policies.

4. User Content & Collaboration

You retain ownership of any itineraries, photos, notes, documents, and messages you upload to Journeys & Pals. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your uploaded content does not violate any third-party rights, applicable laws, or include offensive material.

Trip hosts have administrative control over their journeys, including the ability to assign member roles (Editor, Viewer) and remove members from group journeys.

5. Financial Calculations & Expense Tracking Disclaimer

The expense splitting and debt simplification algorithms provided in Journeys & Pals are informational tools designed to assist friends with informal cost allocation. Journeys & Pals is not a licensed banking institution, payment processor, or money transmitter. Users settle actual debts independently outside the application.

6. Limitation of Liability

Journeys & Pals is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and will not be liable for any missed flights, itinerary discrepancies, loss of personal data, or disputes arising between trip participants.
