Welcome to Journeys and Pals. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our mobile application and related web elements (the "Service"). By creating an account, launching the app, or interacting with the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Account Registration and Responsibilities

To access planning lists and real-time synchronization, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete details during registration.
• Safeguard your authentication details and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
• Be solely responsible for all activities occurring under your credentials.

2. Use of Service & Collaboration Rules

Journeys and Pals enables you to organize itineraries and co-edit them with friends. In using the Service, you agree to comply with the following parameters:

• Invite Codes: You understand that sharing a journey's 6-character invite code allows anyone receiving it to view and edit your travel schedule. Share invite codes only with trusted friends.
• Behavior: You will not post or transmit material that is defamatory, offensive, harassing, or infringes on third-party copyright laws.
• Content Responsibility: You retain ownership of your text inputs, images, and pins, but you are responsible for making sure you have permissions to upload them.

3. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to engage in any activity that compromises the safety or speed of our Service, including but not limited to:

• Attempting to bypass authentication boundaries or reverse-engineer the syncing layers.
• Using automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract travel coordinates or spam the real-time servers.
• Uploading files that contain viruses or corrupted code into the Supabase media bucket.

4. Offline-First Warning & Data Sync Disclaimer

Our Service is built on an offline-first architecture to aid travel in remote places. Please note the following precautions:

• Local SQLite Storage: While offline, your changes reside only on your local device. Deleting the application before reconnecting to the internet will result in permanent loss of unsynced travel files and details.
• Map & Coordinates: Location pins and routing services are provided for planning convenience only. We do not warrant the absolute accuracy of maps, coordinates, or navigation indicators.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

The Journeys and Pals name, logo, application interfaces, and assets are owned by or licensed to us, and are protected under copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy or reuse styling formats or logos without explicit consent.

6. Termination of Access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and block access to database sync portals if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent behavior, or pose security risks to our servers.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Journeys and Pals and its developers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Service, including lost itineraries, travel delays, or data corruption.
